You're my only hope.

Kinja'd!!!

Planning a little one night camping trip for my b-day, looking at what things I may need, suddenly my shopping cart was $1,000....

keep telling myself every week no more Jeep parts, no more Jeep parts, and then a day later I have new Jeep parts en-route.

Save me from myself.

I'd tell yourslef that Jeep parts are worth being poor.

Keeping oneself constrained to Amazon is no help at all now that you can get vast ranges of auto parts there.

I have to restrain myself on a daily basis from buying a grand's worth of Datsun parts.

I have the money but it needs to go elsewhere at the moment.

Yes, Oppo, the bastion of support for those who lack self control with car related purchases. We will talk you down. Don't buy those Jeep parts. Remember you're supposed to be saving for the Prius down payment.

That would be weird, amiright?

Sell the Jeep? Get something you care very little about?

I know it's terrible. And the free 2day shipping on prime REALLY does not help.

I know I saw that! But I still can't justify $800+ on a fridge. I barely spent that on the nice stainless steel side by side I put in my house...

I'm the same way. Like okay I could do it, but I really should use it elsewhere... but i wont.

Thank you for reminding me of the Prius downpayment, I almost made a terrible mistake.

me too. trouble is they are 830 locally and i have a 75 fridge credit there, so it would end up costing me 680...but still. my side by side was like 700

I've been eyeing up this 40 qt Coleman Amazon has for <$100. Its a DC cooler and not quite a fridge so it will keep everything about 40* cooler than ambient, but reviews are quite good on it and I figure its good enough for weekend trips.

i looked at that one too, youde be lucky to get 20 below ambient, and that's after it's been plugged in for a day

Hmm. Have you heard anything on the Koolatrons? that was the other one I was considering.

here is everything you need to know from my 15 minutes of research into thermoelectric refrigeration:

"Absorption type refrigerators provide almost the same cooling performance as Koolatron [TE] portables but are less efficient at high ambients. "

I can tell you from personal experience that [portable] absorption refrigeration blows hardily, so putting them on parity is faint praise.

The coleman and Kooltron are both thermo electric fridges. Here is the best use case, if it gets cold enough at night, then you will likely have a cool enough fridge for the duration of the trip. if it DOESN'T get cold at nights (50 or below) you are unlikely to see 30 degrees ever.

Oh dear God no. No, not that far. Too far. I was thinking something like a Cruze or something. Hate the Cruze? Something else. NEVER a Prius.
